As it’s throwback Thursday, today I have decided to throw all the way back to April 2014 to showcase a super lovely couple’s wedding day!
Lucy and Simon tied the knot at the beautiful St Michael’s Manor in St Albans. It was another gloriously sunny day and I had the pleasure of not only looking after the lovely Lucy for hair and makeup but also her mother, Julie.
I had recently met Simon at a business event and at this time he was in the process of making some fabulous branded CJC T-shirts for me through his company, Beacon Clothing Solutions. While those were going through print he had suggested that Lucy come to see me for a hair and makeup trial after she previously had a rather unsuccessful one with whom she was planning on using for the day.
With about 6 weeks to go before the big day, I welcomed Lucy into my studio for her hair and makeup trial. She had a good idea of the hairstyle that she wanted which was a half up, half down style and we seemed to nail the makeup pretty quickly too which was a great relief for us both after her previous trial experience. A few days later she added her lovely mum, Julie, to the booking and it wasn’t long before I was making my way to St Albans to get these two lovely ladies ready for the very special day!
St Michael’s Manor is a beautiful country-style manor hotel set in 5 acres of private English country gardens with its own lake, so lots of lovely photo opportunities for the wedding day!
This was actually the first time I had visited that venue but I have been back to look after more brides and clients over the last 5 years and it’s always a pleasure to revisit such a beautiful location.
As for the lovely Lucy and Simon, we’re still in touch today and I have since looked after Lucy’s hair and makeup needs for Simon’s sister’s wedding. I’ve also been keeping up to date with their life as husband and wife; from house renovations to the birth of their beautiful little girl, Remy. And 3 is soon about to become 4 with another baby on the way! So exciting!
Simon and Lucy, happy 5 year anniversary! I just wanted to say again how wonderful it was to be part of your celebrations, thank you so much for allowing me to look after you and your mum Lucy, it was an absolute pleasure!
Hope to see you both again soon and can’t wait to see a picture of the gorgeous new arrival!
